Do you want to work on the leading edge of wind turbine technology, operations and reliability? DNV Energy Systems is looking for a Senior Wind Turbine Blade Engineer to join our Asset Operations and Maintenance team serving wind turbine manufacturers, investors, lenders, owners, and operators.
The role will have a particular emphasis on blades - their design, manufacture and quality, including addressing issues that occur during manufacturing, transport, erection, operation, maintenance, repair, and recycling.
You will work closely with customers, and with other DNV engineers and project managers.

This position will be located in our Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; or Houston, TX office, but other DNV Renewables Advisory markets in the United States will be considered.
Perform root cause analyses (RCAs), including investigations into failures covering inspection, documentation of field conditions, causality mapping, and engineering calculations (as appropriate)
Review RCA investigations performed by OEMs or others to assess completeness and provide evaluation of associated risks and mitigants
Lead or contribute to wind turbine due diligence engagements involving technology assessments, project review, report writing, and client communication
Perform field and factory inspections of wind turbines and components as part of construction monitoring, operational project assessments, manufacturing quality inspections, and failure investigations (expected annual travel up to 20%)
Prepare detailed reports, memos, technical notes, and email correspondence to communicate clearly and objectively to customers with accuracy and technical rigor
Remain current on new wind turbine technology, engaging with OEMs to understand latest technical details on new products and updates/revisions to existing products
Complete company required documentation in a timely manner such as Job Safety Analysis, Risk Assessments, time sheets, expense reports, and inspection check sheets
Solicit and listen to customer issues and advise them on root causes, alternatives, timelines and costs for various solutions
Actively engage with customers and other stakeholders to assess and identify new opportunities for growth

"As required by the Pay Transparency laws in Colorado, New York City, California, and Washington, DNV provides a reasonable compensation range for roles that may be hired in those locations. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado, New York City, NY, California, and Washington only, the starting pay range for this role is $110,000 - $165,000."

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from accredited college or university
6+ years of experience focused on utility-scale wind turbine blades
Ability to effectively communicate complex technical matter both verbally and in writing
Ability to work successfully and professionally with diverse customers and colleagues
Flexibility and adaptability, as issues and tasks may change quickly
Demonstrated achievements and subject matter expertise in wind turbine blade design, manufacturing, quality, and/or field operations
Strong organizational skills
Sufficient physical fitness to perform multiple m turbine climbs per day while carrying up to 30 lbs. of gear, and to lift up to 50 lbs
Working in inclement weather conditions and over rough terrain as often experienced on heavy construction sites
Entering confined or enclosed spaces according to required procedures
Familiarity with wind turbine project health, safety and environmental practices including but not limited to lock out tag out, working at heights, hazard communication, hazardous waste, confined space, electrical safety and personal protective equipment
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, and software relevant to blade aerodynamic and/or structural design
Valid drivers' license (expected annual travel up to 20%)
Strong written and verbal English communication skills

What is Preferred
Master's degree in an engineering discipline from accredited college or university
Commercial attitude and a strategic mindset, with market knowledge and foresight
An existing industry network, and proven ability to build and maintain relationships with customers
