Job description
In this role, the otolaryngologist provides treatment for conditions of the ear, throat and nose.This includes treating conditions, examining organs, performing tests to determine the degree of hearing loss, speech loss, or injuries to the larynx.
This position includes an outpatient practice and surgery caseload.1:4 call schedule, with easy call load.
We are seeking an ENT specialist to join our team with a balanced and manageable on-call schedule. While phone calls from the ER and inpatient consults occur regularly, they typically do not require urgent in-person responses.
Here's an overview of the call responsibilities:
Frequency of Calls:
Phone consultations with the ER and inpatient teams happen almost daily, but urgent or emergent calls requiring immediate in-person evaluation occur about once or twice a week.
Nighttime Calls:
Rarely, you may be called in the middle of the night, averaging about once per month.
Outpatient Care:
Most ER cases are seen in our clinic as outpatients, allowing for more predictable clinic hours.
Inpatient Consults:
Inpatient consults are handled at your convenience, as long as they are not urgent. You'll be supported by the hospitalists, who manage all admissions. You'll primarily focus on consultative care, with the exception of postoperative patients.
This call schedule offers a great work-life balance with minimal overnight responsibilities and flexibility for managing inpatient care. The role is ideal for an ENT specialist looking for a supportive, collaborative environment with a reasonable on-call demand.
West Texas offers the support and resources to build and grow a busy practice in an attractive and growing mid-sized Texas city.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday. Rotating On Call Schedule.
