    **Custodian**

    at Minitab State College, Pennsylvania, United States ***POSITION SUMMARY***

    Maintain the buildings of the Minitab headquarters as clean, attractive, and efficient office environments.

    ***ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES***

    Daily:

    Kitchen/kitchenettes: Clean countertops, sinks, and mop floor; generally tidy-up area and remove trash

    Restrooms: Clean counters, sinks, toilets, mop floors, remove trash.

    Main Lobby: Clean glass, spot clean floors, , generally tidy-up area.

    Twice Weekly:

    Locker Rooms, including the Natatorium: Clean all areas, and replenish paper products.

    Trash: Empty all trash containers in all offices, , replace liners and clean trash containers, as necessary. Place trash in dumpster.

    Weekly:

    Carpets: Vacuum all carpeted areas. Spot shampoo, as necessary.

    Stair Towers: Sweep and mop.

    Garden Level Atrium areas (outside main kitchen and in D wing): Sweep and mop.

    Fitness Room: Sweep and mop floors.

    Shipping and Receiving area: Sweep and Mop floors.

    Recycling: Empty recycled materials into bins near dumpster.

    High Places: Remove cobwebs from high places.

    Monthly:

    Windows: Clean inside of all office windows and ledges.

    Baseboards: Dust baseboards.

    ***ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES***

    As requested, assist with moving unneeded equipment from building storage areas to the dumpsters or collection areas for removal.

    ***EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE***

    Satisfactory work history and attendance record.

    At least 5 years of general custodial experience required, and at least 3 years of commercial custodial experience preferred.

    ***QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES***

    Ability to consistently perform duties within a normal work week according to the specified schedule, usually 7 am to 3 pm. This can vary for business needs and vacation coverage.

    Ability to use discretion and keep any information seen in offices confidential.

    Possess valid drivers license or ability to arrange appropriate transportation.

    Ability to climb an 8 ladder to reach ceiling areas.

    Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport objects weighing 40 pounds.

    Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language.
