    Description

    At Alden Terrace of McHenry, we are looking to add a friendly, highly motivated, and enthusiatic receptionist to our experienced nursing home facility. Candidates must possess a positive attitude, good organizational skills, and strong willingness to learn and grow with us. Applicants should be able to multi-task, work as a vital members of the team, take direction when needed, communicate efficiently, and problem-solve effectively. This position calls for an excellent communicator both on the phone and in-person to assure the best quality experience is provided to our residents, staff, and visitors.

    Hours and Days:

    Week 117.5 hours per week (PM and AM)

    Week 2: 25 hours per week (PM and AM)

    PM Shift: 3:30p to 8pm

    AM Shift: 7:30a to 3:30p

    Receptionist responsibilites include, but are not limited to:

    • Answering resident and visitor questions and relay information.
    • Schedule department work hours, personnel, work assignments, etc., to expedite work (if applicable).
    • Maintaining confidental resident and staff information.
    • Provide general administrative support to the team.
    • Assist with any other tasks to help ensure an organized and efficient work environment.
    • Answer the telephone promptly and politely, screen all incoming calls according to facility policy. Take messages and relay them promptly to the proper individual.
    • Type, file, copy materials and maintain all files, records equipment, and supply items as assigned.
    • Prepare reports, assignments and correspondence as needed and directed by Administrator.
    • Receive, sort, direct mail, and fax information.
    • Uploading and scanning medical records
    Qualifications:
    • Must be able to work every other weekend and rotational holidays.
    • Must be flixible with schedule.
    • High school education or equivalent; some college preferred, bilingual is preferred but not nessesary.
    • Applicants must possess good to excellent computer skills
    • Applicants must be punctual, honest, reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented.
    • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during emergency situations.
    • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and general public.
    • Must possess leadership and supervisor's ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
    • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people.
