    Responsibilities

    We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill an opening in our Henderson, NV location as EHS Coordinator.

    In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the environmental, safety and health related efforts for the site, including participation in all safety improvement process activities for the facility.

    Champion and support EHS implementation of programs, campaigns, and initiatives by:

    challenging plant employees to be active participants in pursuing EHS excellence; promoting consideration of EHS implications in all plant projects and activities; providing positive reinforcement and coaching to employees; and continually demonstrating appropriate behavior and leading by example.


    • Communicate identified or reported EHS issues to the EHS Manager and assist in resolution.
    • Champion employee empowerment to identify and address safety concerns, and generate new ideas related to safety and health.
    • Promote and participate in employee involvement programs such as project teams, committees, and internal training.
    • Actively participate in incident investigations and resulting recommendations for improvement
    • Maintain compliance with all environmental related permits: air, wastewater, storm water, and hazardous waste.
    • Lead plant and/or department level EHS projects, audits, self-assessments and inspections
    • Lead plant incident and plant non-conformance investigations, and ensure closure of corrective actions.
    • Maintain compliant safety and environmental records
    • Develop, create, and deliver safety training to employees as required.
    • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response activities.
    • Participate in defining safety training requirements for employees of the facility to assess and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, insurance and internal safety requirements
    • Effectively interact with all internal functional job levels and with external agencies and resources in order to maximize the effectiveness of the safety improvement process.
    • Maintain and increase professional knowledge and expertise related to the fields of environmental protection, occupational health, and industrial safety through annual professional development.
    • Role will involve a significant amount of administrative responsibilities.
    • This is a junior role with room to learn and grow from mentoring and gaining real experience firsthand under the EH&S manager's guidance.
    Qualifications


    • AA Degree in Environmental Engineering preferred and/or equivalent education/experience
    • Minimum of 1 to 2 yrs experience working as safety admin/safety support, manufacturing environment preferred.
