Job DescriptionSalary: 23.00 to 30.00 per hour DOEResidential Advisor to help supervise the Boys wing during early morning hours from 5:00 am. Sign on bonus for this position available
PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position complies with P.L , NCLB Act of 2001. The Residential Advisor shall perform childcare to young residential students within a dormitory environment, which assures the functioning of a well-balanced home living program for students who reside in a Bureau of Indian Education dormitory on a 24-hour basis. The Residential Advisor shall provide residential students with effective, orderly, meaningful, and safe place to learn so that each student will achieve his/her social, psychological, and cultural potential and to meet the academic challenges of Aztec High School. In addition, the Residential Advisor shall provide necessary guidance to high school age students to take care of themselves.
QUALIFICATION:
OR 32 post-secondary semester hours or (48 quarter hours) in an applicable academic discipline, including fields related to working with children in the fields of: child development, education, behavioral science, and cultural studies - Preferred
INDIAN PREFERENCE: Preferential consideration for employment will be given to persons of documented Navajo, American Indian or Alaskan Native Tribal membership who meet the qualifications above, in accordance with the requirements of P.L and the Navajo Nation Tribal Code.
SUPERVISED BY: Lead Residential Advisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pertinent information (i.e., SCAN, referrals to Social Services and/or CPS, etc.) involving student's behavior and responsibilities.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full Time Employment Contract renewable annually by Board of Trustees with recommendation by Lead Residential advisor as per Job Performance Evaluation. Hourly pay rate set on a scale based on qualification, education, and experience. Employee works 40 hours per week.
MEASURE OF PERFORMANCE:
WORKING CONDITIONS: Small, multiple person office at KRCI. Frequent interaction with staff, students, parents, and guests. Moderate incoming telephone calls. Frequent long periods of standing, walking KRCI grounds to monitor students. Being involved in the PIAP reporting requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUlREMENTS: Ability to perform job requirements as listed above. Clean and presentably groom in a manner that you will represent the quality representation of Kinteel Residential Campus, Inc. Appropriate nice attire is recommended for all employees.
