- Establish and uphold policies to ensure adherence to local, state, federal, and international tax laws.
- Supervise the accurate and timely preparation and submission of various tax returns.
- Stay informed about tax law changes, assess their impact on the company, and make necessary adjustments to remain compliant.
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to reduce tax burdens and enhance the company's tax position.
- Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues, deliver recommendations, and work with internal teams and external advisors to implement tax-efficient strategies.
- Evaluate tax implications of business transactions and support decision-making processes.
- Act as the main point of contact for tax authorities, external auditors, and advisors regarding tax-related matters.
- Represent the company during tax examinations, resolve disputes, and negotiate settlements when necessary.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with tax authorities, external advisors, and consultants.
- Develop and uphold internal controls for income tax accounting and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master's or CPA) preferred.
- 8-10+ years' experience in tax planning, compliance, and reporting, preferably in a public company setting within the aerospace industry or a related field.
- Thorough knowledge of domestic and international tax laws, regulations, and principles.
- Experience with Umbrella Partnership C Corporation (Up-C) structures and their associated tax impacts is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute tax strategies that optimize tax efficiency and minimize liabilities.
- Track record of managing tax audits and engaging with tax authorities effectively.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
