Position:
Safety Manager at Steel Fabrication Plants

About the Position and Company:
This role involves overseeing safety measures at designated Banker Steel facility to ensure the well-being of the workforce and assets. As the Safety Manager, you will report to the Corporate Safety Director and collaborate closely with the Plant Manager and staff, focusing on recognizing, evaluating, and mitigating safety hazards through engagement and ownership of safety policies.

Responsibilities:

Implement and coordinate programs to reduce occupational risks
Identify safety hazards in the fabrication plants and promote employee engagement
Develop safety programs and conduct safety orientations for new hires
Train employees on hazard recognition and control
Facilitate safety meetings and assist with daily task planning
Ensure safety compliance with relevant standards
Provide technical assistance to supervision on safety matters
Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses
Maintain positive relationships with employees and regulatory agencies
Support the establishment of a Plant Safety Committee

Core Competencies:

Problem-solving skills
Teamwork and conflict resolution
Understanding of OSHA standards
Knowledge of safety requirements such as LOTO, PPE, and fall protection
Training large employee groups
Effective time management
Compliance with safety regulations

Requirements:

High school graduate or equivalent
Minimum two years' experience in a safety role
Authorized to work in the United States
Preferably English/Spanish bilingual
