    Pre-Analytical Operations Supervisor

    • Department: Pre-Analytical Operations Supervisor
    • FLSA Status: Exempt
    • Reports To: Lab Manager
    • Manages People: Yes
    • Experience: Typically requires 2-4 years' lab experience and 2 years leadership experience

    Job Summary:

    • The Pre-Analytical Operations Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations in the Pre Analytical Operations department, driving success and managing resources effectively. They troubleshoot issues with patient samples, communicate internally and externally, assess workflow processes, order tests, and drive continuous improvements.
    • Key Responsibilities/Duties:
    • Supervises staff and manages workflow of the department.
    • Resource management through ADP; approve PTO requests, approve timecards, complete employee 4x4's.
    • Supervises training of staff members ensuring quality and productivity standards are met.
    • Collaborates with Quality department to ensure QMS standards are met and implement improvements.
    • Responsible for adherence to annual Safety, Compliance, and HIPPA training.
    • Maintains accurate and organized competency records.
    • Reviews all information for accuracy and compliance with company standards.
    • Maintains competencies in all areas of Pre-Analytical Operations processes.
    • Identifies and executes proper route for missing information related to CAP/CLIA/HIPAA required samples and physician/patient information.
    • Assists staff with skill development.
    • Notifies management of any issues related to service quality, processes, or compliance.

    Qualifications:

    • Education – High School Diploma or GED required. Some college coursework in healthcare administration, business, science, or related field preferred.
    • Competencies/Skills – Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and delegate tasks effectively.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills. Experience: 2-4 years in a laboratory environment and 2 years of leadership experience required. Experience with MS Office Suite required.
