- Performs essential functions under the guidance of the Program Manager and other team members for the first 6 months.
- Expected to meet requirements to advance to the next CAP level within 24 months.
- Ensures accurate patient data collection and analysis, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborates with healthcare team members to provide optimal patient care.
- Administers medications as prescribed and maintains detailed medical records.
- Monitors and documents patients' responses to treatments.
- Delegates tasks to other healthcare staff as necessary.
- Participates in staff training and meetings.
- Acts as a resource for the healthcare team.
- Supports infection control and safety measures.
- Provides education to patients and their families.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to update patient care plans.
- The role involves direct patient care, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing.
- May be required to work in various healthcare settings and environments.
- Position may involve travel and participation in on-call rotation.
- Provides oversight to Patient Care Technicians/LPNs after meeting specific experience and training criteria.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current state licensure.
- Entry level position for RNs with limited nephrology nursing experience.
- Minimum 9 months of RN experience preferred.
- Prior nephrology and dialysis experience necessary.
- Hemodialysis and/or ICU experience is beneficial.
- Completion of training and certifications required.

POSITION FEATURES:The role of the registered professional nurse (CAP RN 1) is an entry-level position in the Clinical Advancement Program for Registered Nurses. The CAP RN 1 is responsible for providing competent care for a group of patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
