    Description

    Floyd County Head Start Birth to Five is looking to add a family partnership superstar to our Family Services team.

    As a Family Advocate, you have the task of helping families make the transition process into our Head Start program and then guide them on their journey

    Duties and Responsibilities


    • Complete enrollment tasks of prospective families into the program
    • Establish relationships with family's while maintaining professional roles and boundaries through home visits, meetings, and other means of contact
    • Encourage parent/guardian involvement in the program
    • Plan and facilitate parent and family workshops and events with other staff
    • Participate in community resource opportunities and establish strong relationships to facilitate the delivery of services to children and families
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of records and information regarding families, children, and program operations
    • Keep proper and up-to-date records and documentation of all communication with families and staff
    • Partner with other department staff to address family needs
    • Assist in other departments as needed and requested
    Qualifications


    • Associate's degree or higher in Human Services required
    • Experience with documentation and record keeping
    • Reliable, consistent attendance
    • Professional knowledge, skills, and attitude
    • Ability to safely and physically transport a preschool/toddler/infant child; vision and hearing adequate to supervise children
    • Hold or obtain CPR card for Adult, Child, & Infant within 90 days of employment
    • Have ability to communicate with children, parents, staff, and professionals and work in a group setting
    • Ability to be flexible and work as a member of a cooperative team
    Schedule


    • Monday-Thursday 7AM-4PM
    • Some Fridays (4 hours only) required throughout the school year
    • 49 weeks paid (1 week off and unpaid in October, December, and July)
    • Paid holidays and scheduled breaks
    • Up to 5 paid emergency closure days
