    Job Summary:
    • Provides occupational therapy services to patients ranging from the young (toddler) to the elderly who may have physical, medical and/or psychological disorders and who may be receiving services on an inpatient or outpatient basis.
    • Responsible for providing patient treatments/services according to a plan of care established by a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR).
    • Work with patients on an individual basis using current technology, treatment techniques and modalities consistent with department and hospital policies and procedures.
    • Responsible for assisting OTR's in developing and facilitating specialized treatment programs as appropriate to meet patient needs.

    Qualifications:
    • Associate Degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant curriculum and successful completion of clinical field work.
    • Must have entry level skills and knowledge in the provision of occupation therapy services with clinical field work completed in an acute care or sub-acute care setting.
    • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant by the NBCOT required or obtained within 6 months.
    • Occupational Therapy Assistant Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant through the State of Minnesota required or Temporary OTA permit required with Occupational Therapy Assistant license obtained within 90 days.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card.
