- The Lincoln VA Clinic, outpatient, provides primary care and specialty health services, including mental health services, laboratory services, physical therapy, dentistry, optometry, and more.
- Demonstrating knowledge of basic health care provider skills.
- Providing comprehensive care and motivating Veterans towards optimal level of functioning while understanding Veteran's rights and responsibilities.
- Accurately records care delivery and observations using established oral, written and computer communications according to documentation guidelines.
- Providing a range of patient care and contribute to the completion of the nurse care plan and recovery of patients/residents.
- Using equipment, materials and supplies in simple diagnostic and treatment procedures such as bladder scan, continuous passive motion device, blood glucose monitoring machine, specimen collection, etc.
- Recognizing and reacting to emergent patient care situations and intervene while waiting for assistance, for example, recognizing need for basic life support, controlling bleeding, and assisting with behavior crisis, etc.

As a member of the nursing care team LPNs assist licensed nursing staff in the care of patients receiving outpatient care or home care who are in acute, sub-acute or chronic states of illness.
Assignments may involve complex nursing needs which can vary within a range of predictable to unpredictable requirements.Responsible for observing, recording, and reporting changes in the patient's condition, as well as assisting in the development and revision of the patient-driven holistic care plan for life.
