    Position Title: Intern – Carpenter/Concrete Mason

    Compensation:

    Part-Time, Temporary, $20.00/hour

    Scope & Responsibilities of Intern – Carpenter/Concrete Mason: (Not limited to)

    • Awareness to build or repair cabinets, doors, framework, floors or other wooden fixtures used, tile work may be required.
    • Awareness to build, finish, or repair all types of masonry work concrete pads, pump blocks, building and tank foundations, stanchions, concrete floors, pads, sidewalks, curbing, roads.
    • Awareness to use carpenter hand tools or power tools, tile cutter, and other additional tools required for the job.
    • Awareness to read blueprints, understand scope of job, use proper materials, operate transit and masonry tools, and build forms.

    Education & Experience for Intern – Carpenter/Concrete Mason:

    • Must be enrolled in an accredited higher education program with preference given to candidates with a focus in Carpentry/Masonry.
    • Maintain a cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher and be available to work up to 40 hours per week consistently.

    Other Qualifications of Intern – Carpenter/Concrete Mason:

    • Microsoft Office applications: Access, Excel, Word and Outlook as well as other applicable software. In addition, demonstrated ability in any applicable software.
    • Successful completion of all computer based company mandated job related training.

    Physical & Cognitive Demands of Intern – Carpenter/Concrete Mason:

    • COGNITIVE DEMANDS: Meet deadlines, focus attention, work independently, work with a team, perform repetitive tasks, spatial relations, communicating, interpreting, organizing, reading comprehension, critical thinking troubleshooting.
    • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Seeing, speaking, hearing, smelling, kneeling, stooping, sitting, walk/climb, stand/reach, listen, writing, physical coordination, driving, climbing, twisting/bending, depth perception, assembling parts, keyboarding.
    • Working in extreme heat/cold on elevated platforms with exposure to hazardous materials. Push/pull/lift/carry 50 pounds. Must be capable of climbing, entering vessels, and working in elevated locations or confined spaces. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment and SCBA. Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, confined spaces and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
    • May work overtime, holidays, weekends, scheduled time off and/or shift work as required to support refinery operations.
