    JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:

    The Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for reviewing invoices on all carriers at our facility in Louisville, TN. The AR Representative also maintains accuracy and production to ensure accounts receivable is being processed effectively.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Following up on unpaid claims by telephone or website, identifying billing errors and correcting them.
    • Outbound phone calls and/or website review for ALL carriers.
    • Rebilling claims that have been corrected or resending claims with special documentation attached, working with the insurance company to resolve a denied claim or sending appeals to the insurance company to dispute their processing of the claim.
    • Reports any consistent errors identified during review that affect claims from being processed correctly.
    • Participates in unit progress meetings with Accounts Receivable Team.
    • Turns to Management team for unusual circumstances that may include adjustments, denials, fee schedules, claims, etc.
    • Performs any and all duties as directed by Accounts Receivable Anesthesia Manager.



    QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Previous medical billing experience with primary emphasis on collections from Government or Managed Care programs
    • Knowledge of physician billing policies and procedures
    • Good computer skills
    • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime as needed
