Systems Integration and Test EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Systems Integration and Test Engineer with a minimum of two years of experience to be a pivotal troubleshooter for robot failures, both in the field and internally, based on-site in Salem, Oregon.
This role involves performing root cause analysis and triage work, determining whether issues are known or require further investigation, and collaborating with the engineering team to document and resolve novel problems.
This position is highly focused on communication and ticket tracking, with an emphasis on first-pass troubleshooting.Responsibilities
Collaborate with the engineering team to understand known issues and existing error codes.
Perform initial triage by reviewing telemetry, logs, and video to identify error codes that inform root cause.
Conduct second-level triage using common tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to eliminate known root causes.
Document identified root causes or escalate novel issues to engineering for further investigation.
Work with engineering to train on and document newly identified root causes.
Build and maintain troubleshooting documentation with the engineering team.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2 years of experience in test engineering, electrical engineering, or a similar role involving troubleshooting.
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering).
Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving tools such as Ishikawa, FMEA, and 5-whys.
Proficiency in using Jira or similar tools, with experience in defect triage and troubleshooting documentation.
Experience with Linux command line and associated scripts (bash or python).
Ability to parse logs from interfaces and read basic code.
Background in system-level troubleshooting and triage work on complex electro-mechanical products.
Proficiency in basic electronic troubleshooting using DMMs, oscilloscopes, and understanding basic electrical theory.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with troubleshooting communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CAN Bus, i2c, SPI, etc.
Experience with cable harnesses and PCBA troubleshooting.
Ability to read, understand, and debug basic software/firmware issues.
Experience with thermal, vibration, and EMC.
Experience with safety-critical systems.
Work Environment
This role requires working on-site five days a week, spending substantial time on the manufacturing floor, being hands-on with the robots.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $ $43.27/hr.
