    The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and upkeep of comprehensive environmental, safety, and health programs within the facility.

    Their role involves providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal and external safety and environmental standards, aligning with effective business practices.

    The EHS Manager is required to cultivate relationships across all organizational levels, from corporate to plant employees, and indirectly drive change across various departments

    Responsibilities:

    Establishing Strategic Safety Programs:

    • Develops strategic safety programs for the plant, implementing initiatives to fulfill these strategies.
    • Defines safety program objectives and measures performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), communicating progress and requirements to plant personnel and management.
    • Leads the development, administration, and maintenance of Environmental, Health & Safety compliance, focusing on areas such as compliance and reporting, safety training, and safety program management.

    Compliance and Reporting:

    • Formulates and maintains safety standards, directives, and procedures to align with corporate and regulatory requirements, aiming to mitigate workplace risks and liability.
    • Assists management in accident investigations and reporting, offering recommendations for corrective or preventive actions.
    • Ensures accurate maintenance of environmental and injury/illness records, staying updated on EHS regulations to provide expertise for assessments, projects, and problemsolving.
    • Develops and manages facility EHS Management Systems, covering areas like hazard analyses, safe operating procedures, and emergency planning, facilitating compliance through audits, inspections, and documentation.

    Safety Training:

    • Implements proactive accident prevention strategies through employee training, maintaining training records and documentation.
    • Coordinates, conducts, or outsources safety training sessions, including OSHArequired training, safety orientation for new hires, and specialized training such as chemical safety and fire extinguisher maintenance.

    Contractor and Vendor Compliance:

    • Oversees safety training for vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety programs.
    • Coordinates with temporary agencies to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
    • Manages first aid supplies and boot truck maintenance.

    Program Oversight:

    • Acts as the primary contact for the Plant Safety Committee and cultural project initiatives.
    • Drives a culture change throughout the organization.
    • Manages emergency response, security programs, and fire protection assets and inspections.
    • Administers plant respiratory protection and hearing conservation programs
