    Clinical Laboratory Assistant-Days,PRN, As Needed

    Texas Health Arlington Memorial's Laboratory department is looking for a top skilled Clinical Laboratory Assistant. Is that you?

    Work location: Texas Health Arlington Memorial: 800 W Randol Mill Rd, Arlington, TX 76012

    Work hours: PRN, As Needed; Day Shift; Tuesday through Saturday

    Here's What You Need

    Education

    · H.S. Diploma or Equivalent required

    · Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required

    Experience

    · Hospital experience as a phlebotomist preferred and

    · Completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy preferred

    Licenses and Certifications

    · PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician Upon Hire Preferred

    What You Will Do

    · For those entities performing phlebotomy; employee follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient

    · Follows laboratory procedures for handling, and processing in a manner which is appropriate and follows safety guidelines

    · Follows laboratory procedures for handling unacceptable specimens

    · Follows established laboratory test procedures

    · Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity

    · Reports and evaluates test results

    · Facilitates workflow process

    · Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care

    · Processes specimens

    · Demonstrates ability to perform specimen processing protocols

    · Participates in orientation and training of students, volunteers, new employees, and observers

    · Maintains commitment to profession by attending continuing education sessions. (ex. Web seminars, ASCP seminars, Tarleton and Lab sponsored seminars by industry)

    · Quality control guidelines are followed

    · Quality control and equipment maintenance

    · Incorporates safety/infection control measures into work practices
