    Description
    Locum - Physician - Gastroenterology Lakewood, CO
    Join a dynamic and critical care team as a Locum Physician specializing in Gastroenterology, providing essential services at a Level 1 Trauma facility with 24/7 Trauma and GI support. This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, with ongoing coverage needs starting December 8, 2025. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes through procedures such as ERCP, EUS, Endoscopy, and GI bleeding evaluation, ensuring seamless coverage during staffing gaps.
    Required Skills:
    • Medical Degree from an accredited institution
    • Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
    • Active CO medical license or IMLC certification
    • Proven proficiency in advanced GI procedures, including ERCP and EUS
    • Strong clinical judgment and patient management skills
    • Experience with inpatient GI consultation and procedures
    • EMR proficiency, ideally with Epic
    • Ability to work independently with minimal support
    Nice to Have Skills:
    • Previous experience in Level 1 Trauma Centers
    • Familiarity with hospitalist and intensivist collaborations
    • Experience working in outpatient and inpatient settings
    • Skilled in managing complex GI cases, including GI bleed diagnosis and management
    • Ability to handle high-volume procedures reliably
    Preferred Education and Experience:
    • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
    • Minimum of 3 years of GI practice experience, preferably in a hospital setting
    • Prior locum or temporary staffing experience is advantageous
    Other Requirements:
    • Availability for 5-7 days per month starting December 8, 2025, into 2025
    • Willingness to stay at designated preferred hotels with negotiated rates
    • Completion of credentialing, pre-application, and EMR training (Epic) before first day
    • Must be willing to travel within the local area or drive-in; specify city of origin
    • Valid CPR and ACLS certifications
    • Ability to commit to schedule shifts ending at 7 a.m. the following morning
    • Must complete all EMR modules and virtual training at least one week prior to start date
    • Travel preferences and lodging arrangements must align with hospital policies
