- Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive HVACR training program from inception through launch
- Establish program goals, learning outcomes, and performance metrics
- Ensure curriculum aligns with industry standards, applicable mechanical codes, and workforce demands
- Oversee accreditation, credentialing, and compliance requirements, as applicable
- Build a culture of continuous improvement, seeking out the latest technologies and innovative methods in the field to incorporate into the curriculum. This ensures UHP sets the standard for cutting-edge HVACR instruction for the U.S.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise HVACR instructors
- Mentor instructors to ensure high-quality, consistent instruction
- Establish instructional best practices and evaluation processes
- Foster a culture of professionalism, safety, and continuous improvement
- Develop, implement, and maintain curriculum using NCCER HVACR Level 1, 6th Edition
- Ensure hands-on lab instruction meets all safety, quality, and educational requirements
- Integrate industry-recognized training frameworks and best practices, as appropriate
- Ensure instruction reflects current and up to date HVACR technologies, tools, refrigerants, and installation practices
- Manage program budgets, equipment needs, tools, and instructional resources
- Coordinate scheduling, facilities use, and lab operations
- Collaborate with administration, industry partners, and workforce stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, EPA requirements, and institutional policies
- Build relationships with HVACR contractors, service companies, and industry partners
- Support apprenticeship pathways, job placement, and workforce alignment
- Represent the program in community, industry, and advisory meetings
- State-recognized HVACR license or equivalent industry credential
- EPA Section 608 certification
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the HVACR trade
- NCCER Certified Instructor (HVACR)
- Prior experience teaching or training apprentices or trades students
- Experience in program development, leadership, or supervisory roles
- Combination of administrative, classroom, and hands-on lab environments
- Requires strict adherence to all safety standards related to HVACR training

Position Overview
The University of Health and Performance is seeking a highly organized HVACR School Director to lead the design and launch of a high-quality heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) training program that prepares students for successful careers in the HVACR trade. The Director provides strategic leadership, oversees curriculum development, recruits and supervises instructional staff, teaches as needed, and ensures the program aligns with industry standards, safety requirements, and workforce needs.
Reporting to the Vice President of Ignite America, School of Industrial Trades, this senior leadership role requires deep technical expertise, instructional vision, and the ability to design, launch, and lead an HVACR training program from the ground up.
