    The Head of Integration Application will serve as an enterprise leader and a key SME responsible for the successful implementation of tools, methodology and processes that establish traceability between various standards, requirements, product design, and development data.

    This capability promotes compliance to relevant standards and enables end-to-end lifecycle management of products from concept to post-launch activities.

    The Head of Integration Application will be expected to provide leadership, overall technical direction to the team, and guidance to the customer base on the application of tools and best practice methodology within Alcon R&D.

    The Head of Integration Application will partner extensively with R&D, IT, Manufacturing, Quality, and many other functions to design and implement solutions that serve to streamline the way we work – including but not limited to software development, technical development, validation, technology transfer, and ongoing lifecycle management / support for our products.

    The Head of Integration Application Head is a thought leader, operating across various Technical Platform Areas and will be expected to provide guidance on a global scale regarding Industry Best Practices.

    Experience in new product development (inclusive of software) within the medical device industry would be a plus for this position, but not required.

    Success in this role will require direct and indirect leadership of a customer-oriented team with the ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level.

    Own the Solution:
    Ownership of the entire EQube and Mendix solutions delivered to the business including work done by other team members


    Lead the Team:
    Leadership of the project team and customers (including those beyond the borders of R&D) to deliver project goals and in accordance with existing corporate standards

    Lead the Process :
    Lead and influence the evolution of business processes that support the application of Integration tools and methodology

    Put the Enterprise First :
    Partner with other leaders and capabilities to maximize synergies across digital platforms

    Own the Project :
    Oversee all aspects of the technical project (including solution definition, scope, timelines, budget, change leadership, and communication plans)


    Instill Best Practice:
    Ensure that industry and Alcon best practices are followed and that the functional specifications are successfully developed, implemented, and documented


    Leverage Project Management Tool:
    Create and maintain estimates for project budgets, detailed project plans, and enforcement of scope for the project


    Be a Thought Leader:
    Become a trusted advisor to the customer to steer customer towards industry and Alcon best practice


    Communicate:
    Effectively communicate design direction to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion


    Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +18 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)

    The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

    10 Years of Relevant Experience

    6 Years of Demonstrated Leadership


    Work hours:
    M-F, standard

    Travel Requirements: 25-50%, mostly domestic, occasional international travel
