    Senior Transportation Officer

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Transportation Officer to join our team. This role will involve securely transporting detainees between destinations and ensuring the safety of our vehicles.

    Responsibilities

    • Transport detainees between destinations while maintaining secure and safe conditions.
    • Review vehicle inspection reports and develop summaries for management.
    • Maintain permits and licenses for assigned vehicles.
    • Ensure vehicles have necessary safety equipment before initiating trips.
    • Track DOT HOS on Electronic Logging Devices.
    • Participate in interviewing and screening of Transport Officers applicants.
    • Review paperwork and submit reports according to policies and procedures.
    • Ensure all missions meet or exceed PBNDS/FBNDS safety measures.

    Requirements

    • Active Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military demonstrating satisfactory completion of approved training program.
    • Valid CDL Class A or B with Passenger Endorsement Drivers License.
    • Minimum three years experience as Law Enforcement Officer with Arrest Authority; or three years Prisoner Handling and detention experience as Corrections, Detention, or Military Police Officer.
    • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
    • Must be at least twenty-one years of age.
    • Two years driving experience in transportation capacity.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience.
    • Completed approved training program resulting in certification of satisfactory completion in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
    • Current drivers license with no preventable accidents, suspensions for driving convictions, Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) or Driving Under the Influence (DUI) or more than two moving violations on any type of vehicle for past three years.
    • Passing company and Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol test.
    • Ability to work overtime frequently.
    • Ability to travel extended periods of time with frequent overnight stays.
    • Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with working extended hours.
    • Ability to regularly report to work without being late.
    • Ability to be physically alert on any shift assigned.
    • Ability to work up to sixteen hours within rolling 24-hour period.
    • Ability to pass Company and Federal Client background investigation.
    • Willing and able to travel for extended periods of time on short notice.
    • Ability to work with computers and necessary software typically used by department.

    Working Conditions

    • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60 lbs. (sometimes more).
    • Reach above shoulder level.
    • Work with machinery.
    • Bend, stoop, climb, walk, stand, sit, and work in extreme temperatures.
