    SUMMARY

    The Shipping Team Lead works in the shipping department assisting the shipping manager. Leads by example with safety ensuring the quality of the products produced and packaged meet or exceed department goals and trains new or inexperienced employees.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Demonstrated good supervisory skills, training skills and the ability to lead other employees in a Team environment.
    • Can troubleshoot with inbound and outbound shipments.
    • Able to perform cycle counts to reconcile inventory discrepancies.
    • Organizes yard / warehouse for an efficient operation.
    • Understands and implements all policies and procedures including safety rules.
    • Check and sign off on Red Flag quality orders.
    • Understands traffic function.
    • Can create coil run out tags and monitors run-outs.
    • Able to do rack adjustments.
    • Assigns drivers to loads.
    • Updates daily drive mile report and updates cost in Computer system.
    • Leads by example to CLARKDIETRICH Building Systems company values.
    • Has grasped basic supervisory skills and is able to relieve the Supervisor for short periods of time
    • Demonstrate good work ethic and ability to advance.
    • Team player.
    • Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet the requirements of Operator 1,2,3,4,5 & 6
    • Any other duties required by supervisor.
    SAFETY
    • Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures.
    • Wears and maintains all required PPE.
    • Keeps assigned work area clean at all times.
    • Understands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation.
    • Safely operates all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Mechanically Inclined.
    • Problem Solver.
    • Team Oriented.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
    • The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    • Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into decimals.
    • Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer and caliper accurately.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Extensive travel by car
