Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and friendly Hostess / Host / Runner to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests and ensure smooth dining experiences. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for guests, guiding them to their tables with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your positive attitude and excellent communication skills will help foster guest satisfaction and loyalty. Whether managing reservations, assisting with seating, or supporting the service team, your proactive approach will be vital in delivering exceptional hospitality. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a vibrant restaurant environment while providing memorable guest experiences. The job also includes taking and entering all To Go and Take Out orders. This job includes receiving Tips on your To Go and Take Out orders.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing a positive first impression
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Escort guests to their tables, ensuring comfort and proper seating arrangements
- Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate guest needs
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area
- Support servers by delivering food runners or assisting with guest requests when needed
- Handle guest inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette, providing accurate information about the restaurant's offerings and policies
Experience
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a customer-focused attitude are essential
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and interpersonal, to engage with diverse guests and team members
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Experience in hotel or guest services can be advantageous for understanding hospitality standards
- Knowledge of serving protocols, guest relations, and hospitality best practices enhances your ability to excel in this role
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor in a fast-paced environment
