Description
Serves as Chief Engineer aboard muti-service, 1,600 Ton, DP-2, SOLAS vessel.In this position, the employee is head of the engineering department and is responsible for all technical operations on the vessel including engineering, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment belonging to or maintained by the Company.
As head of the department, the employee establishes and maintains clear standing orders for all department officers and rated members and collaborates with the Master on issues concerning safety, security, commercial readiness, economic efficiencies, and the protection of the environment.
Oversees and maintains vessel's machinery and equipment, utilizes automation and power distribution systems and records activities and maintenance in Helm CONNECT.
Upholds stringent compliance with U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regulations, Classification rules, industry practices, and Company policies. At all times, the employee maintains eligibility to perform safety-sensitive functions as per Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations and hold appropriateRequirements
