    Description

    PURPOSE

    Primary role is to support day-to-day material movement and inventory control within a highly regulated, FDA-approved pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This hands-on role is responsible for managing incoming goods, staging raw materials for production, reconciling material usage, and processing finished goods post-manufacturing—all while ensuring compliance with cGMP, FDA, and internal quality standards.

    REPORTS TO

    Reports to the Vice President of Commercial Operations and requires close coordination with cross-functional teams in Production, Quality Assurance, and Planning to ensure accurate material flow and documentation across the production lifecycle.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Receiving & Inventory Control

    • Receive raw materials, components, and consumables in accordance with cGMP and SOP requirements
    • Perform visual inspections, document review, and proper labeling upon receipt
    • Store materials under appropriate conditions (e.g., temperature, segregation, quarantine vs. released status)
    • Maintain real-time inventory accuracy through recorded inventory transactions and physical verification
    • Conduct routine cycle counts and support full inventory reconciliations

    Production Staging & Reconciliation

    • Stage and deliver materials to production based on batch records and job orders
    • Ensure accurate issuance of materials from inventory to production with corresponding entries in inventory and production management systems
    • Track all stages of production/manufacturing including supporting reconciliation of actual material usage vs. planned quantities
    • Partner with Manufacturing and Quality to reconcile unused, returned, or rejected materials
    • Document and escalate any material discrepancies, deviations, or variances according to procedures

    WIP & Finished Goods Handling

    • Receive and process completed production batches, verifying quantities and ensuring appropriate documentation
    • Coordinate movement of finished goods to designated storage or Quality hold areas
    • Ensure all finished product intake is recorded accurately in inventory systems and aligns with batch records
    • Maintain segregation between WIP (work in progress), finished goods, and raw materials per GMP zoning and labeling standards

    Compliance & Documentation

    • Ensure all transactions and documentation (labels, logbooks, inventory system entries) meet GDP and cGMP standards
    • Support internal and external audits by maintaining audit-ready documentation and inventory controls
    • Participate in deviation investigations and implement corrective actions related to material handling or reconciliation
    • Comply with all safety, environmental, and quality protocols

    QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills)

    • 2+ years of experience in materials handling or inventory control in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or life sciences environment
    • Working knowledge of cGMPs, FDA regulations, batch record documentation, and good documentation practices
    • Proficient in using ERP systems for inventory transactions (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent)
    • Familiar with production batch execution workflows, material staging, and reconciliation processes
    • Experience handling WIP and finished product materials under GMP storage requirements
    • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills

    WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Standard office environment.
    • Ability to bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Prolonged periods of standing may be necessary during your shift
    • Proficiency use of computers.

    LOCATION

    This position requires to be onsite in Round Rock, Texas. Rock Round is located 15 miles north of Austin.
