    Job Description

    Manage and lead the mechanical reliability function for the Mill. Focused on areas to meet safety, environmental, reliability, production, quality, and Mill goals. This position leads the development and execution of the mill reliability programs.

    Job Specific Responsibilities:
    • Maintain high levels of accountability with subordinates for full compliance of safety actions, training or policy changes that will support attainment of safety goals. Actively participate in a leadership role in attainment of safety goals identified for the mill.
    • Assist in leading Mechanical Reliability Improvement in the Mill and help build a Reliability Culture
    • Support Maintenance dept. with troubleshooting equipment deficiencies.
    • Oversees and leads Mechanical Skilled Craftsman training and certification standards.
    • Ensures Mechanical Precision Practices are understood, followed, and improved across the mill.
    • Implement Reliability best practices and process system for Precision Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and Lubrication as it relates to our mechanical equipment.
    • Manage and communicate Reliability Metrics to drive performance.
    • Sponsor Operator Basic Care initiative through the Mill.
    • Sponsor Root Cause failure analysis process for Reliability Events (RIs)
    • Direct or oversee any modifications to mechanical equipment or systems that improve reliability or cost effectiveness.
    • Direct and oversee either Vibration team, or lubrication team, based on strengths.
    • Help develop long-term strategies for sustained mechanical reliability for Rotating Eq, Structural, Pneumatic, Steam/Condensate systems and Lube/Hydraulic systems.
    • Assist in efficient execution of a mechanical equipment capital strategy.
    • Support cyclic outages for increased efficiency.
    Essential/Required Qualifications:
    • BA/BS degree in a mechanical engineering field (equivalent experience will be considered)
    • 5 years' experience in management supervision
    • 5 years' experience in mechanical maintenance/engineering
    • 5 years' experience in mechanical manufacturing reliability
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    Desired Qualifications:
    • High level of knowledge in advanced asset reliability techniques and practices
    • 5 years Paper Mill Experience
    • Has led Reliability improvement at manufacturing facility.
    • Sound understanding of financial practices and cost measures/controls as they relate to maintenance.
    • Works well with teams and can take leadership roles effectively.
    • Experience with SAP & Microsoft office software.
    Competencies:
    • Effectively Build Teams
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Facilitate meetings, such as RCFAs, Criticality analyses, improvement initiatives.
    • Change Management
    • Be highly engaged on Capital Projects from conception, planning, and installation.
    • Strong Collaboration Skills with Operations and Craftsmen to solve run reliability and operability problems.
