    Principal Supervisor - Executive Director

    Position Summary:

    As a Principal Supervisor for Oklahoma City Public Schools, you will play a critical role in advancing school leadership growth and promoting academic success in our elementary and secondary schools. Your primary responsibility will be to provide effective support and accountability to principals, ensuring coherence in their efforts to prioritize and drive transformational change within their school, and taking responsibility for helping principals with instructional leadership and their school's managerial operations. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep commitment to empowerment, and a proven track record of supporting school improvement initiatives.

    Essential Duties:
    • Serve as Liaison Between School and System-Level Leaders:
      • Advocate for equitable distribution of support to elementary/secondary schools.
      • Inform system-level strategy and decision-making by communicating transformation school needs.
      • Coordinate and deliver support to create inclusive, caring, and equitable school communities.
      • Collaborate with other principal supervisors to share best practices and enhance coherence across elementary/secondary schools.
    • Conduct Purposeful Weekly School Visits:
      • Establish a structure for substantial visits to each elementary/secondary school, including more frequent visits to the schools with the highest needs.
      • Rotate the focus of visits to explore and monitor priority goals and school plans to meet those goals.
      • Observe and coach principals on leadership in action, including classroom support.
      • Provide opportunities for principals to reflect on practice and performance.
    • Support Action Plan Development & Implementation:
      • Assist principals in developing and implementing action plans, including Title I, Schoolwide Plans, and improvement plans, with input from school leaders.
      • Ensure high-leverage problems of practice are identified through root cause analysis.
      • Collaborate with principals to monitor plan implementation and make necessary adjustments.
    • Facilitate Collaborative School Leadership Development:
      • Facilitate regular, interactive meetings of principals driving change at the site level.
      • Strengthen principals' leadership skills and competencies through interactive learning.
      • Encourage sharing of best practices and collective problem-solving among principals.
      • Reinforce common expectations and advance initiative goals.
    • Promote Data-Driven Instructional Practices:
      • Support principals in executing effective assessment strategies, utilizing multiple data points.
      • Provide feedback to enhance the quality of data meetings and instructional planning.
      • Ensure alignment of standards, curriculum, and assessments.
      • Develop systems for teachers to create instructional plans aligned to student learning needs.
    • Support Talent Management Efforts:
      • Guide principals in supporting and holding teachers accountable for performance.
      • Implement induction programs and coaching support for instructional staff.
      • Address teacher challenges and provide targeted support.
      • Develop professional development strategies to build teacher capacity.
    Job Specifications:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):
    • Master's degree in Education or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in school leadership or district-level leadership roles.
    • Demonstrated success in supporting school improvement initiatives.
    • Strong knowledge of educational best practices and data-driven decision-making.
    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
    • Commitment to empowerment in education.
    • Current OK Administrator's Teaching Certificate
    Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities):

    *Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education at a 2:1 ratio. Therefore for every one year of college lacking, two years of directly relevant experience may be substituted.

    Physical/Mental Requirements:
    • Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on a computer.
    • Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret, and transcribe written material and other required duties.
    • Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone.
    • Requires some stooping, bending, stretching, and occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds.
    • Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
    • May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes. stressful conditions in order to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
    Work Environment:
    • Office duties will be performed in a well-lighted, climate-controlled environment.
    • Will require time in office, as well as external meeting locations with community partners or schools throughout the OKC metro area.
    • May require participation in meetings and activities outside of normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
    • May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays.
    • Able to bend and stoop, lift 25 lbs, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time.
    Reports To: Senior Executive Director of Elementary or Secondary Schools

    FSLA Status: Exempt

    Compensation: 902

    Work Days: 242

    FTE: 100
