    Description

    The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works with residential adolescent clients to maximize their functional independence in daily living activities by providing therapeutic treatment. Treatment goals are provided through an Occupational Therapist/Licensed (OTR/L).

    Responsibilities include planning and adapting 1:1 sessions for clients weekly, focusing on independent living skills, coping skills, and fine/gross motor skills.

    We seek a qualified candidate with an Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Occupational Therapy. Clinical experience working with adolescents and/or families is preferred.

    The ideal candidate will possess a professional license from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) and have prior experience working with an interdisciplinary team in a residential treatment setting.

    We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide and adapt therapeutic use of self and presence to facilitate engagement in therapy routines and activities.
    • Collaborate with clinicians and direct care staff to identify client needs for occupational therapy services.
    • Plan therapeutic activities aimed at meeting each client's individual therapeutic goals.
    • Provide sensory tools, visual aids, and resources to assist clients in achieving maximal functional independence.
    • Develop and implement at-home/unit-based therapeutic programs.
    • Include direct care staff, clinicians, and family members in therapeutic activities and programs.
    • Provide discharge recommendations, resources, and referrals as necessary upon client discharge.
    • Maintain timely Quality Assurance compliance related to employee roles and functions.
    • Build rapport with clients through therapeutic use of self.
