- This position provides a four-day workweek with ten-hour workdays, making it a great option for individuals seeking work-life balance.
- The new Speros campus will have a 30,000 sqft Comparative Medicine state-of-the-art Facility, which will complement MCC's existing, fully accredited 28,000 sqft facility.
- Experience working with research facility, specifically mice.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, emergency/referral practice or veterinary teaching hospital, as well as multimodal anesthesia experience.
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and anesthesia protocol skills.
- Surgical experience with rodent models, including survival surgical experience and maintaining a survival surgery suite.
- Technical services support
- Experience with rodent breeding colony production techniques and maintenance.
- Performs preparatory and surgical procedures on various animal species.
- Coordinates scheduling technical procedures with research staff, maintains records, documents procedures, and logs time for chargeback, as needed.
- Maintains rodent colonies, including that of breeding colonies, and assists with the rodent health surveillance program.
- Obtain tissue samples for genetic characterization of mice.
- Performs tissue collection including tumors and organs. Collects
- Bachelor's degree (from an AMVA program), four (4) years of veterinary technician experience inclusive of two (2) years working in a research facility.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, an Associate's degree (AVMA program) and six (6) years of veterinary technician experience inclusive of two (2) years working in a research facility may be considered.
- Current license, registration, or certification as a veterinary technician (CVT, LVT, RVT). Will be required to provide documentation upon hire that shows passing of Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE).
