    Description

    Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.

    Manages, directs and coordinates the child care programs for assigned location(s).Supervises all Site Directors/Coordinators within the assigned region.
    Responsible for staff recruitment, hiring, training, and scheduling. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
    Ensures high quality programs by visiting child care sites on a regular basis to observe and evaluate operations.
    Assists Regional Director with budget development for assigned programs.
    Responsible for monitoring assigned programs' revenue & expenses to ensure they operate within budget.
    Assures compliance of ODJFS licensing, SUTQ*, NAEYC standards as they relate to program areas. Ensures that YMCA program standards (including HEPA) are met and safety procedures followed. *SUTQ responsibilities for all assigned school age and preschool programs.
    Performs the duties of site directors or teachers during absences as needed.
    Develops and maintains relationships with ODJFS, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
    Assists the Regional Director with providing staff leadership for annual fundraising campaigns and committees as assigned.
    Maintains proper department files including required paperwork for staff.
    Provides assistance to other Y Club / child care programs as needed.
    Organizes special events for Child Care programs and YMCA Branch if applicable.
    Represents assigned branch programs by attending and participating in Program Innovation Team meetings and projects.
    Assists site staff with maintaining written records for children's files, collecting and reporting program data as required by funding.
    Assists in the marketing of programs, enrollment and distribution of program information.

    Performs duties in the branch as assigned (building coverage, special events, etc.)If applicable, complete duties as required by the Child and Adult Care Food program for your sites.


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Manages a team of staff in the childcare department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

    Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training and coaching employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


    RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:


    Must be at least 21 years of age, and hold a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field and have at least two years of managing child care programs and staff; or equivalent combination of Associate's Degree/CDA in related field and experience.

    Must meet Site Administrator qualifications for ODJFS Licensed programs.

    Passionate belief in the Y's cause of nurturing the potential of all youth, supporting healthy living for all people and finding ways to help and support our neighbors.

    Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
    Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
    Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations.
    Must submit all required paperwork for ODJFS licensing. Must submit a staff medical statement as required by ODJFS standards.

    Must obtain and keep current training certifications in first aid, communicable diseases, child abuse recognition & prevention as required by ODJFS.

    Must attend all necessary YMCA, child care and/or grant related training.

    YMCA Team Leader certification; if not certified, must obtain certification within 12 monthsTeam leader certification requires:

    Principles and Practices; Introduction to Volunteerism; Introduction to Leading Others; Introduction to Fiscal Management; Leadership competency assessment; Team Leader Certification Test.
