Job Title : Clerk III – Special Education - Prepare all required reports as requested by the Records Retention Specialist, Director of Special Education, and Executive Director of Federal Programs.
- Type, file, duplicate materials and receive and direct phone calls.
- Assure compliance, in paperwork, with local, state, and federal regulations governing students with disabilities.
- Obtain or send information to other districts and agencies as needed.
- Receive and process all referrals and assign to appropriate personnel as needed.
- Contact parents or guardians to schedule evaluations or obtain additional information, if necessary.
- Maintain district records, IAW District records storage area procedures, approved retention schedules, applicable district policies, and applicable state and federal laws/regulations.
- Provide information regarding the creation, use, disposal, management, and preservation of records.
- Process the archival or disposition of records IAW regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for the reasonable security and preservation of records stored in the Records Retention Center.
- Attend staff development activities as assigned. Other Duties
- High School diploma.
- Previous clerical experience.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. Physical Requirements
- Physically capable of frequently lifting or moving up to 40 pounds;
- Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus;
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time;
- Manual dexterity for the purpose of using a telephone and data entry;
- Read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids;
- Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; and
- Speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone. Work Environment
