Job Description: Project Engineer

Summary:

This job description outlines the role of a Project Engineer who will handle planning, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of custom machinery, along with developing expertise in fabric welding and equipment operation. The candidate will provide customer support, contribute to team efforts, and manage project requirements effectively. Key qualifications include engineering knowledge, strong leadership, and interpersonal skills. The role demands physical labor and significant travel. The position aims to maintain high standards in operational practices and team culture.

Essential Functions:

Communicate with the Project Manager throughout a custom machine build to ensure it meets the customers needs and expectations.

Install, test, debug, and service custom machines.

Develop spare parts kits and workflows for maintaining and troubleshooting equipment.

Provide customer demonstrations, training, and support, including phone assistance.

Participate in tradeshows as needed and assist in building custom equipment.

Research and develop expertise in fabric welding and Miller Weldmaster equipment.

Integrate and troubleshoot vendor machinery with company equipment.

Writing, photographing, and compiling detailed owner's manuals for custom equipment-

Address inventory and quality issues with the engineering team.

Produce visual documentation of equipment prior to shipment.

Organize, schedule, and lead daily huddle meetings with customer decision maker during all installs

Writing daily end of day reports during all installs

Work closely with service department on multi-machine or custom-standard projects

Adhere to strict timelines for testing and installation of machines. Work overtime as needed based on deadlines, not workload

Qualifications/Skills:

Proficient in requirements analysis, project management, and design.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety management, and process improvement.

Experience with CAD/CAM circuit design and automated equipment production.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

An associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, industrial) is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Frequent use of hand dexterity and visual acuity.

Occasional need to perform physical activities such as climbing and lifting (up to 50 pounds).

Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl

Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use keyboard

Travel Requirement:

Up to 50% or more, including international and domestic overnight travel.

Valid Passport and Identification required for travel
