The Psychiatrist - Child Services will provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for child consumer population.
They will create a plan of care and treatment, collaborating with other programs and portfolios as needed to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to those receiving services.
Licensure as a Board Certified General and Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist with minimum education as determined and required by the relevant licensing board or Board EligibleA minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience providing psychiatric care to individuals with a mental health diagnosis
Board Certified General and Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist
Knowledge of community mental health and public health in order to provide advocacy and enhance an individual's treatment and access to community resources; Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; Knowledge of the principles, procedures, techniques, trends, and literature related to mental health, intellectual disabilities and substance abuse; Knowledge of psychiatric/medical medications/treatments ; Knowledge of database systems and software, as well as, the best practices for effective utilization; Use database systems and software to efficiently and effectively meet documentation needs; Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among co-workers and representatives in the community; May be called upon to travel to any Horizon worksite; transport clients, provide services to client @other locations.
Regular attendance at trainings and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites; Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; Horizon Behavioral Health Community Services Board (CSB) is located in the beautiful heart of Central Virginia.
