Position Overview:

The Director of Menu Innovation is responsible for leading and driving beverage innovation for Dutch Bros by creating and developing new and exciting beverage products.

This position is instrumental in driving the company's growth and maintaining a competitive edge in the dynamic beverage industry.

This role requires a visionary leader who can combine technical expertise, market insights, and strategic thinking to bring innovative and appealing food and beverage products to market successfully.

The Director of Menu Innovation plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's product portfolio, enhancing its market position, and meeting customer demands for innovative and appealing drink options.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience, requiredMinimum of 5 years of experience in beverage innovation, product development, or a related field, with a track record of successful product launches, requiredIn-depth knowledge of food and beverage industry trends, consumer preferences, and regulatory requirementsExcellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesEffective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings and recommendations to senior leadershipCreativity and a passion for creating new and innovative beverage products

Innovation Strategy:
Develop and execute a comprehensive innovation strategy for the beverage category, aligning it with the company's overall goals and objectivesEnsures developed strategies are designed to maximize product performance and profitsCollaborate with marketing, operations, field services, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment and successful product launchesValidate each project's progress with key stakeholders to ensure it meets the company's needs and is within scopePartners across Supply Chain, Finance, and Analytics product performance and modifies plans to achieve targeted revenue and margin goalsProduct Development and

Product Portfolio Management:

Partner with Brand team to develop, test and confirm product design briefs for handoffs to commercialization partners for scoping, pricing, and execution.

Oversee the end-to-end product development process, from ideation to commercialization, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and marketable beverage productsManage the existing food and beverage product portfolio, regularly assessing product performance and making necessary recommendations for improvements or discontinuationsDevelop and manage budgets and portfolio plans for the menu innovation department, ensuring efficient resource allocationPartner with Operations to implement rigorous quality control standards and processes to maintain product consistency and meet regulatory requirementsMarket Research and Reporting and Analytics: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitive analysis to inform product development and identify business opportunitiesProvide regular reports and analytics on the performance of beverage products, innovation projects, and ROI to senior leadershipKeep pulse with field teams to understand emerging trends/needsStay updated on relevant food and beverage regulations and partner with Food Safety and Legal to ensure that all products meet legal and safety standardsOther duties as assignedSkills: Innovation StrategyProduct DevelopmentMarket InsightProject ManagementRegulatory KnowledgeCuriosity and CreativityCollaboration
