    Description

    Under the direction of the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Budget Manager directly manages the annual budget process and budget controls for the University. The Budget Manager is also responsible for monthly forecasting and managing and implementing financial systems as it relates to budget management.

    Examples of Duties

    Essential Functions
    1. Budget Development
      1. Initiates, manages and assists colleges, divisions and other support units in the development of the annual budget preparation process.
      2. Performs analysis and provides recommendations to senior financial leadership for budget allocations
  • Budget Control/Management
    1. Review, monitor, and approve the reasonableness of budgetary requests, including PNFs.
    2. Make corrections or budget transfers when needed
    3. Advise colleges, divisions, and other support units on proper GL coding for expenses to align with budget
    4. Variance Analysis - monitor anomalies with expenses or revenues and correct within the financial systems.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts against budget and ad hoc projections.
  • Responsible for implementing and managing systems and process improvements as it relates to budget management
  • Typical Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or other related field required.
    • Minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in the area of Financial Planning and Analysis.
    • Excellent planning, organizing and coordinating skills essential to oversee and evaluate complex and diverse budgeting functions.
    • Strong analytical skills necessary to conduct research and analysis, identify trends and forecast needs.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, work accurately, meet deadlines and provide effective management reporting.
    • Ability to build and foster strong professional relationships individually and within teams.
    • Ability to complete the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Campus crime statistics as defined under this law for the last three calendar years are included.
