    POSITION: Corrections Custodian

    SALARY: $ per hour

    REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

    LOCATION: Nespelem, WA

    Basic Functions: Responsible for performing scheduled routine custodial duties involving upkeep of Correctional and Court buildings. Employee will perform a variety of custodial tasks as needed to maintain cleanliness and support day-to-day operations of the Correctional Facility and Court buildings. Employee is Supervised by Corrections Facility Manager

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Training:

  • Requires high school diploma or GED
  • Experience performing custodial tasks in a commercial setting
  • Licenses and Certificates:

  • Requires a valid driver's license and be eligible for the Tribes' vehicle insurance and maintain coverage throughout employment.
  • Requires a valid First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain within 120 days of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  • Special Conditions:

  • This position is identified as a safety sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment, post-accident, random, and reasonable suspicion drug testing.
  • Must submit to and successfully clear an extensive background investigation.
  • Must have no convictions for a felony or misdemeanor involving force, violence, or moral turpitude, and must have no violation of tribal policies.
  • Must provide a completed application, resume' and three (3) professional references.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of custodial equipment such as floor machines, sanitizers, extractors, steamers, etc.
  • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in general building maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of general cleaning, grounds and the operation of tools and equipment used in maintenance/custodial work.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing and to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to deal with and handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently and productively with minimal instructions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information encountered at work.
  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Knowledge of safe work habits and safety procedures
  • Technological abilities with various software programs, including but not limited to, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Maximo, etc.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team oriented collaborative environment.
  • Ability to create correspondents and reports.
  • Ability to perform the essential responsibilities and work tasks of the position.
  • Ability to establish and maintain congenial working relationships with other Tribal programs, outside business representatives and the public.
  • Must maintain STRICT confidentiality standards and be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement for the Program.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive work attitude and appropriate conduct with co-workers, supervisors, other agencies and the public.
