    We are recruiting on behalf of a premier manufacturer in the Lowell, Michigan area for a Manufacturing Engineer. We are seeking a motivated, self-starter who works well under deadlines. Must be flexible and comfortable in manufacturing and distribution center environments. Plans and performs a variety of engineering functions related to the manufacturing and fabrication process.

    Responsibilities:

    Acting as the primary point of contact for manufacturing as it relates to new product development projects and existing production needs.

    Analyzing the existing operations and initiating process improvements using time studies, line balancing, and other tools.

    Developing assembly equipment and production cells including process maps, value stream mapping, and work instruction development.

    · Training operators on new processes and procedures.

    · Participating in New Product Development process to ensure that product designs incorporate Design for Manufacturing principles.

    · Performing cost analysis to support both New Product Development and existing equipment needs.

    · Maintaining system integrity for manufacturing product information.

    · Creating routings to manage material flow through the manufacturing process.

    · Creating/maintaining plant floor and manufacturing area layout drawings

    · Providing direction to maintenance team members as well as interns and technicians when required

    Experience:

    · 1 – 3 years manufacturing engineering experience in assembly operations required

    · Experience with design and implementation of PLC controlled assembly and inspection equipment/fixtures.

    · Application of lean manufacturing principles with a proven track record of success.

    · Communicating effectively with management, teams, engineers, and the shop floor.

    · Excelling in problem solving, innovation, team participation, and self-motivation.

    · Managing process improvement activities on multiple and concurrent projects, demonstrating a sense of urgency.

    · Working with teams to achieve Quality, Cost and Timing targets.

    · Six Sigma Green Belt certified preferred

    · Experience with PLC Troubleshooting and minor modification preferred.

    · Allen Bradley RS 5000, Allen Bradley RS 500

    · Experience Modifying HMI's preferred.

    · Allen Bradley FactoryTalk Studio ME, Allen Bradley Panelbuilder 32

    · Experience with or exposure to Visual Factory and SolidWorks software application.

    Education:

    · Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited college.
