    Position Summary


    Morehouse School of Medicine Center for Maternal Health Equity seeks a Research Assistant to support activities associated with community-based participatory research and maternal health.

    Duties will include but not be limited to literature reviews, assisting with community advisory board, instrument development (observational protocols, interview guides, quantitative surveys), qualitative and quantitative data collection, collaborating with the project team (i.e., community-based organizations), and dissemination activities (manuscripts, conference abstracts, etc.).


    JOB DUTIES :


    Research assistants in maternal health will be involved in conducting interviews and surveys, organizing and managing databases, data analysis, assisting with grant applications, developing research protocols, and staying updated on relevant literature and advancements in the field.

    Additionally, they might participate in community outreach, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and assist in preparing research findings for presentations or conferences.

    Additional tasks as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education


    • Bachelor's Degree required. Degree must be from a regionally accredited college or university.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience.
    • Desire to participate and understand community-based participatory research and maternal health equity.

    Support in the development of research plans, study design, and statistical analysis plans for research and evaluation studies including but not limited to:


    • Development of program implementation skills.
    • Understanding of and contribution to the grant/contract submission process.
    • Peer-reviewed manuscript preparation and co-authorship
    • Professional conference exposure
    • Development of presentation skills.
    • Development of leadership skills.
    • Development of Collaboration skills.
    • Administrative tasks associated with Center initiatives

    It is MSM's Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment.

    If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption.
