    Overview:


    Research Administration is committed to providing faculty, research staff and administrative support staff with the tools necessary to perform the various functions required to ensure the responsible stewardship of extramural funds.

    Central support units, including the Office of Sponsored Programs, Contracts Administration, Clinical Research Financial Administration and Post Award Administration, partnering with Central Finance and Research Accounting to assess the needs of our Investigators and to develop and offer opportunities for research development.

    This position will liaise with our Research Institute's (RI) faculty members who are conducting basic, translation and clinical research.

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Post Award Administration, The Finance Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management of Post Award Administration.

    This position will exercise management responsibility over sponsored research while ensuring compliance with federal, foundations and regulatory agencies as well as HSS policies.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the Post Award Department.
    • Supervising Post Award staff members
    • This position is responsible for reviewing and processing all FSR's and invoices related to Federal and Foundation awards.
    • Responsible for preparing financial analysis and meeting with Principal Investigators
    • Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficits.
    • Provide guidance on budget and financial policies to ensure adherence to institutional policies and standards.
    • Assist with the preparation of financial metrics for presentation to various PI's and Leadership
    • Responsible for research financial management activities. Assists in reconciling budget to actual expense activity for all grants and contracts.
    • Responsible for overseeing procurement activities related to goods, services, and/or equipment and for disbursement/reimbursement activities as needed.
    • Responsible for overseeing the setting up new accounts in Research Administrations Financial System
    • Researches all financial discrepancies; contacts appropriate personnel to resolve issues.
    • Responsible for overseeing core's billing/receivables including animal facilities. Reconciles payments with partner institutions and rectifies any errors.
    • Responsible for assisting in the payroll allocations for all Research Personnel to various grants.
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field
    • Five years of financial experience in finance and grants management, including pre- and post-award management, financial analysis, budgeting and experience with NIH, DOD, Foundation, and industry sponsors.
    • Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activities, preferably in an academic environment.
    • Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
    • Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
    • Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research finance.
    • Ability to maintain strong organization and communication skills.
    • Good teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work independently.

    USD $115,000.00/Yr.
