    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
    Conduct geotechnical field investigations and analyze failures involving soils, foundations, and construction-related problems on commercial, residential, and industrial properties
    Determine the cause, origin, and extent of failures and losses relating to soil-related issues, landslides/slope failures, retaining walls, shallow, intermediate and deep foundation systems, earthwork grading, and stormwater runoff
    Conduct unbiased investigations for various types of clients
    Responsible for retention and development of client relations
    Prepare oral and written reports in laymen's terms that document causes of failure, and extent of loss
    Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups
    Ability to support conclusions by appropriate expert testimony in legal proceedings
    Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies


    Position Requirements:
    B.S. in Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus, Masters Degree preferred
    Minimum of five (5) years of post-academic geotechnical engineer experience
    P. E. (Professional Engineer) registration required through testing
    Must possess demonstrable strong writing skills
    Public speaking experience a plus
    Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills


    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to travel 25% of the time
    Ability to lift 50 lbs
    Ability to maneuver in and around buildings and in confined spaces
    Ability to drive to site locations and fly
    Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues
    Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site
