    The Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) is hiring two positions for full-time Liquor Distribution Worker 1 on Swing Shift (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm). This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a state agency that is the third-largest generator of state revenue.

    We are posting this opportunity as an internal and external recruitment opportunity. Individuals who are currently working for the OLCC will be given preference during the application review process.

    Who are we?

    The OLCC is the agency responsible for regulating the sale and service of alcoholic beverages in Oregon by administering the state's Liquor Control Act and regulating the production, processing and sale of recreational marijuana in Oregon through the Control, Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana and Industrial Hemp Act. The agency also regulates the production, processing and sale of medical products sold to Oregon Medical Marijuana Program cardholders in OLCC licensed marijuana shops.

    The agency is comprised of three major operational programs; the Distilled Spirits Program, the Recreational Marijuana Program, and the Public Safety Program. All three programs are supported by the Administration, Financial Services, and Support Services divisions. Revenue generated from these programs helps support state and local government programs. The OLCC distributed more than $625 million in the last two years to Oregon programs, cities and counties. This money helps fund essential services such as schools, police, and public health programs for Oregonians.

    What will you do?

    You will work with a dynamic group of employees in a fast-paced environment to quickly move distilled spirits through the Distribution Center for shipment to the more than 282 liquor stores throughout the State of Oregon. You will manually pick up full cases of liquor from pallets, racking, or staging areas and load the products onto a conveyor system. You may operate a shrink-wrap machine to wrap and seal repack (split-case orders) cases for stability and security. You may also use an electric cart and radio frequency (RF) scanner to replenish stock to conveyor locations. You will be required to limit the number of mistakes over a monthly period to demonstrate accuracy and safety. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

    Working Conditions:

    Typical warehouse environment includes limited exposure to daily weather conditions, elevated noise level on the conveyor system, and constantly running shrink wrap oven.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry 50 lbs. of cases of product during an 8-hour shift; AND
    • Must be at least 18 years of age; AND
    • Have a basic knowledge of spoken and written English, sufficient enough to understand verbal and written instructions and to respond to requests in person.

    Desired Attributes and Experience:

    • General warehouse or related work experience which may include: picking orders for shipments, working on conveyor systems, restocking merchandise, and maintaining a clean warehouse area.
    • Experience using a radio frequency scanner.
    • Ability to adhere to assigned work schedule and maintain good attendance.
    • Ability to collaborate, share information, and identify and resolve problems in a constructive manner.
    • Ability to embrace and fosters diversity and multiculturalism in the workplace.

    • The salary listed is the Public Employee Retirement Systems (PERS) qualifying base salary range of Liquor Distribution Worker 1. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the 6.95% increase.

    • The person in this position may drive a State of Oregon vehicle. If so, this requires drivers to hold a current, valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record to drive.
