    Janry Pet Resort is looking to add to our team of pet lovers. The pet counselor will be responsible to provide compassionate and attentive care of the animals at all times, maintain a clean healthy environment for the animals and the public, and assist with other duties as needed.

    Pet Counselor Job Description:

    • Full Time position only
    • 8 hour shift will fall anywhere from 7am to 7pm
    • Following all policies and procedures as well as working effectively, efficiently and in accordance with business policies.
    • Daily, thorough cleaning of all animal suites.
    • Feeding and providing water for the animals, including providing special diets as needed.
    • Administering Medication appropriately and according to owners instructions
    • Monitoring the health of the animals on an ongoing basis by rapidly identifying any health problems or conditions (medical or behavioral) and immediately reporting them to management.
    • Treating all animals humanely, properly, and with compassion at all times.
    • Cleaning and upkeep of the facility.
    • Playing with and exercising animals on property either one on one or in a group play situation.
    • Stocking supplies as needed
    • Working courteously and cooperatively with other staff members.
    • Working effectively as part of a team on cross-functional programs, projects, and activities as well as courteously and cooperatively with other departments.
    • Maintaining a friendly demeanor and providing good and professional customer service while assisting the public.
    • Janitorial duties which can include but are not limited to; laundry, dishes, cleaning and sweeping/mopping public areas.
    • Providing high quality customer service to people who visit or call the business while maintaining a friendly demeanor and providing good customer service skills.
    • Providing a healthy, safe, clean and pleasant environment and facilities for the animals and the public.
    • Filling in for other areas and performing other tasks/functions as needed.
    • Following organizational dress code and reporting to work on time, when scheduled, in a professional personal appearance including the wearing of business logo wear.
    • Assisting management or peers with additional tasks as needed

    EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES AND QUALITIES REQUIRED

    • Prior experience preferred but not required
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • The ideal person for this job would be personable, outgoing, patient, professional, and able to get along well with a variety of people.
    • Affection for animals and a willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace.
    • Strong written and verbal skills, including the ability to communicate skillfully and effectively with the community in a professional, pleasant, respectful, courteous, and tactful manner at all times.
    • Maturity, good judgment and a professional personal appearance.
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Flexibility, ability to manage multiple tasks
    • Ability and initiative to work with minimal supervision and direction
    • Comfort and ability in working with animals.
    • Ability to communicate skillfully and effectively with clients and staff.
    • Ability to lift and move objects and animals weighing up to 50 pounds for short distances.
    • Ability to come to work at scheduled times.
    • Personal vehicle and drivers license required
    • This is a drug free zone. No use of drugs or alcohol allowed. You will be working with live animals.
    • We will randomly administer drug testing.
