    Atlas Roofing Roof and Wall Insulation, a division of Atlas Roofing Corporation , is seeking an Accounting Clerk for the LaGrange, GA. facility.

    Accounting Clerk JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain filing systems
  • Reconciles problems with vendors
  • Processing plant hourly payroll; insuring proper pay to each employee
  • Data entry of information from source documents and the transmission of data files to payroll processing
  • Thorough knowledge of handbook/policies/procedures
  • Converting timecard information into hours, pay rates and job codes
  • Maintains finished goods perpetual inventory; recording daily shipments, production and inventory requisitions
  • Reconciles problem areas through discussion with plant production personnel and sales department
  • Maintains plant raw materials perpetual inventory with updates to monthly quantities received and consumed as recorded by production
  • Reconciles problems/errors with appropriate plant personnel
  • Reconciles perpetual inventory to physical counts
  • Reconciles various asset and liability general ledger accounts to ensure balances accurately reflect the true results of the plant operation
  • Maintains fixed asset inventory including property additions, deletions, and transfers
  • Ensures general ledger asset and accumulated depreciation accounts are correct and reconciled
  • Carries out specific tasks during the month-end and year-end general ledger closing activities
  • Data entry of journal entries and verification of the resulting batch proof and error reports for accuracy
  • Provide assistance and backup to other accounting staff
  • Assist Controller in the processing of month end journal entries and other month end processes
  • Assist in establishing, maintaining, and reviewing item costs and the overall cost accounting function
  • Make recommendations to management, based on the cost data, as to any changes that should be made to the operation to maximize our profits
  • Maintain and review customer product pricing utilizing the PeopleSoft pricing module and other tools
  • Timely processing of daily customer invoicing, all related sales reporting, and the tracking of proof of deliveries
  • Gathering, and processing data for environmental reporting purposes
  • Gathering and processing daily production data for production related reporting
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
  • Regular, consistent physical attendance
  • Accounting Clerk EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Associates degree in accounting from accredited college or university and/or
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a computerized accounting environment
  • Accounting Clerk KNOWLEDGE SILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Requires high level of confidentiality.
  • Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Good understanding of a manufacturing environment and cost accounting.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, and ability to use sound judgment to make decisions.
  • Exercise pro-active rather than reactive problem solving skills.
  • Convey information thoroughly, accurately, understandably, and timely.
  • Ability to begin and follow through with a plan or task without prompting or direction from others.
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Office Applications; ability to learn new software applications quickly.

  • Ability to deal effectively with change.
  • Ability to communicate clearly (both orally and written) and to represent Falcon Foam professionally to personnel, both internal and external.
  • Communicates very well with Coworkers, Sales Staff, Management, and external Customers or potential Customers.
  • Fluent in English (Reading, Writing, Speaking).
  • Advanced math skills, able to do statistical analysis, financial analysis and forecasting

  • Total Compensation

  • Atlas Roofing Corporation offers a competitive compensation and vacation/holiday package as well as a comprehensive benefits program including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D/LTD insurance, 401k and Medical & Dependent Care Spending Accounts.
  • Annual salary $48,000 up to $58,000 depending on experience, plus bonus potential opportunity.
