    COMPANY SUMMARY: Junior Achievement: Empowering young individuals to take charge of their financial success. Junior Achievement of Alabama aims to inspire and equip young minds to thrive in a global economy by providing hands-on learning experiences. With a focus on financial management, economic planning, entrepreneurship, and career readiness, Junior Achievement impacts around 36,000 students annually across Alabama.

    POSITION CONCEPT: As our Development Director, you play a vital role in driving revenue growth and supporting our organizational goals. Collaborating closely with our President, you will lead fundraising efforts through various channels while also managing development-related tasks and external communications.

    Responsibilities:
    • Organize and maintain annual grant processes and submissions, ensuring compliance with deadlines and reporting requirements.
    • Develop and submit grant proposals, maintain proposal templates, and manage prospect portfolios.
    • Oversee the information system for tracking prospects and funding history, working closely with the Business Manager for financial matters.
    • Support the President in preparing proposals for major funders and manage donor stewardship activities.
    • Coordinate Board Member visits, corporate proposals, and research prospective donors.
    • Produce various communications and marketing materials, including Annual Reports and social media strategies.
    • Manage donor acknowledgments, organize special events, and handle volunteer coordination.
    • Perform other duties as needed.
    Education / Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3 to 5 years of fund development experience.
    • Knowledge of online corporate grants and excellent communication skills.
    • Strong project management abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure, with superb interpersonal skills.
    • Flexible schedule, occasional travel, and valid driver's license required.
