Ultrasound Technologist/ Sonographer- Lafayette- - Interim HealthCare of Indianapolis

Description

We are seeking qualified Ultrasound Tech candidates to staff a wonderful hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. This is a 13-week contract position that requires rotating shifts. 2+ years of relevant OB/GYN, pediatric, vascular, or general ultrasound tech experience is required. Pay rates are currently $48-58 per hour but depend on contract availability and distance from the facility.

Responsibilities of the Ultrasound Tech

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures to generate high-quality images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations, explain procedures, and offer supportive devices to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
• Perform real-time scanning and manipulation of the transducer using appropriate settings to capture images from multiple angles and views.
• Evaluate ultrasound images for quality and diagnostic value, ensuring adequate coverage and resolution. Consult Radiologist if needed.
• Collaborate with the Healthcare team and effectively communicate concerns or emergent findings.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document information in an electronic medical record.
• Stay up to date with education or training to stay in compliance.

Requirements of the Ultrasound Tech

• Active ARDMS or ARRT Certificate/Indiana licensure.
• Must be willing to work rotating shifts- 2 days and 1 night
• 2+ years of recent and related experience, as required by the facility.
• Must be able to work independently, yet together as part of a team.
• Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
• Proficient at taking vital signs and administering medication accordingly.
• Active BLS, physical, TB test, and other medical compliance as required by the facility.
