    TITLE: Yard Hand

    FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

    Reports to: Plant Manager

    Summary:

    As a yard hand, your job duties vary but typically include moving items throughout the plant facility, cleaning equipment, and fulfilling general maintenance tasks as required, all while adhering to safety policies.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Hose out and clean equipment
    • Painting
    • Plant Maintenance & Repair
    • Ensure the supplies are replenished and the Yard is both organized and is free of debris and potential hazards.
    • May operate the loader and load/unload material from a variety of trucks and trailers.
    • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations

    Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to operate loader as occasional backup.
    • Prompt & Regular Attendance

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • None.

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • 2 to 3 years of Driving Experience - preferred

    Physical Requirements:

    • Requires prolonged sitting, driving, and MHE operations.
    • Heavy lifting required, lift up 50 lbs. +
    • Must be able to work in severe weather conditions, both heat and cold.
    • Must be able to stand / sit 8-15 hours per day.
    • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, squat, and move as part of normal work activities.

    Work Environment:

    • Location of position: Great Corpus Christi Area
    • Background checks and drug tests required.
    • Maintaining a valid commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements and a clean driving record is required.
    • May be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.
    • Will be subject to sitting/standing for long periods of time to perform job scope.
    • May be required to work hours other than the regular schedule.
