    Job Description:

    A Project Controls oversees a project's revenues and expenses to ensure it stays within budget and timeline for the lifecycle of the project. The primary functions of this role will also provide input to management for how the organization can improve its project operations to meet its needs. The Project Controls is a key member of the project team and works directly with the project manager to help define the project's goal and objectives; create and maintain a project budget and schedules, analyze progress reported against the work schedules, and recommend actions to improve progress.

    Responsibilities:

    • Reviewing a project's deadline and budget with the project manager
    • Coordinating payments to subcontractors and vendors
    • Assist with review and development, evaluation of subcontract change orders
    • Create project progress reports and making recommendations for ways to improve the project progress
    • Analyzing performance data to establish performance metrics
    • Develop risk mitigation
    • Comparing ongoing project activities with the project management plan and project performance baseline
    • Provide more detailed cost reporting daily or weekly updates, as required.
    • Identify and evaluate potential changes and review contractor invoices.
    • Examine requests for budget revisions, recommend approval or denial and draft correspondence.
    • Present results of cost analysis to senior staff and clients.
    • Assist with update to projections on cash flows, staffing plans and contingency usage.
    • Support the change control process, establishing the necessary forms, logs, and expedited methods.
    • Responsible for defining the work scope and preparing overall schedules and budgets on various sized projects.

    Qualifications:

    • Conflict management & resolution
    • Effective communication with all levels of project stakeholders
    • Relationship Building; build and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders.
    • Protects and promotes the best interest of the company; ensures all objectives and performance standards are met.
    • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task
    • Comfortable overseeing the complete project life cycle, including change orders.
    • Basic understanding of variance analysis.
    • Experience with enterprise resource planning tools and programs.
    • In-depth expertise with cost estimates and cost analysis.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Managment or Engineering or related field.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
    • Travel when required (Dependent on jobsite location and project)
    • Must have a valid driver's license.
