Job Title: Senior Accountant

Contract Duration: 3-6 months

Hybrid (3 days a week)

Watertown MA

Must Haves:

BA
Experience in Reconciliations
Supporting Audits

Preferred:

Non Profit
CPA

Job Summary/Description:

Responsibilities

? Analyzes monthly revenues and expenses to ensure coding accuracy and compliance

with Perkins' established accounting policies and procedures and Generally Accepted

Accounting Principles (GAAP)

? Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end reconciliation of balance sheet

accounts Analyzes quarterly balance sheet, revenue and expense fluctuations

? Assists in the preparation of the annual financial statements, including footnotes

? Assists with the annual financial statement audit and other external audits

? Assists with the annual 401(a) retirement plan audit and annual returns

? Assists in the preparation of the annual Massachusetts Uniform Financial Report (UFR)

? Assists in the preparation of the annual Form 990, Form 990T, Form M990T, Form PC,

and other tax filings as required

? Assists with the development of policies/procedures relative to the administration of

general accounting practices; and maintains accounting controls by following

established policies and procedures

? Assists in other duties as required

Competencies

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following

competencies:

? Strong technical accounting background, including knowledge of Generally Accepted

Accounting Principles (GAAP)

? Strong working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.), Word and databases

? Proficient in various tools to import, export and format data in the creation of financial

analysis and reporting

? Strong analytical, critical thinking, creative problem-solving skills and sound judgment

? Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet deadlines, independently and in

a team environment

? Knowledge of annual financial statement close and audit process

? Ability to work with confidential information

? Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively

with all levels throughout the organization

Education and/or Experience

? Bachelors degree in Accounting

? 3 to 5 years of experience in Accounting, preferably in non-profit

? CPA a plus.
