    Description
    As a

    Propulsion Test Engineer


    at Impulse Space, you will be responsible for all aspects of liquid rocket engine test equipment design and test operations while working closely with a fast paced, agile team that produces high-performance spacecraft from clean sheet designs.

    Responsibilities

    Design and build fluid, mechanical and electrical systems in support of liquid rocket engine test stands
    Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to meet project technical and schedule objectives
    Collaborate with wide ranging teams across the company and at different physical locations
    Perform test setup, hardware inspections, leak checks and troubleshooting as needed
    Conduct propulsion test operations geared toward rapidly developing an engine for spaceflight
    Resolve technical issues with innovative and resourceful solutions.

    Preferred Skills and Experience

    Prior experience working with complex systems including cryogenic propellants, high pressure gas systems, hydraulics and/or combustion devices
    Working knowledge of components (valves, regulators, sensors, power supplies) and hands-on skills (tube fabrication, metalworking, wiring)
    Experience in a startup or agile development environment

    Additional Requirements:
    Flexible schedule and willing to travel as needed


    Additional Information:
    Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.

    Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.

    In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the

    as well as

    access to a 401(k) retirement plan .
